Columnist an inspiration to Weight Watchers 5/20/2006
On May 11, 2006, Ms. Bunny Dimmel, contributing columnist for The Post-Standard, was the guest speaker at one of our traditional Weight Watchers meetings at the Grange Hall in Cortland.

I always look forward to reading Bunny's columns, and have often quoted her in my Weight Watchers meetings. I was concerned that Ms. Dimmel would be unwilling to travel the distance from Syracuse. Needless to say, I was delighted she agreed to visit us.

For an added bonus, Applebee's provided our group with samplings from their Weight Watchers-friendly menu. When one is seeking to lose weight, it's difficult to go out to a restaurant when you don't realize the calories or fat grams involved. It's nice to have that figured out for you.

Bunny shared her story about losing over 200 pounds by using Weight Watchers plans and techniques. What a remarkable journey this dynamic woman has been on. She provided hope and offered encouragement to our members, many of whom have a long road ahead of them.

Her story captivated the audience. Bunny provided our members with her own Top 10 list. Her No. 1 bit of advice: "Quitting is not an option!"

Bunny brought many of her "before" pictures to share. She told the group she made a promise to herself that she would always "tell it like it is" about her journey. Our members were thrilled to have the opportunity to meet this woman and hear her remarkable story. Thank you, Bunny, for sharing and being an inspiration to us all.
